In 2003, acclaimed Ottawa author Rob Krten, known for his QNX Cookbook series, enlisted Jeff Poissant of Evolving Media & Design Inc. to craft a striking wrap-around book cover and CD-ROM label for his book, The QNX Cookbook: Recipes for Programmers.
 
Over countless cups of coffee at Tim Horton’s, a captivating 3D illustration took shape, vividly depicting the dynamic process of a text file being called, retrieved, and opened within the QNX Operating System. The result was a visually compelling design that perfectly captured the essence of the book’s technical focus.

With permission, Jeff Poissant used an original painting from Canadian Military History provided by National Defence. The painting was scanned, color-corrected, and incorporated into a maple leaf illustration for a series of promotional materials we designed.
