Project Overview
In 2001, the Directorate of Honours and Recognition commissioned me to design a full wrap-around book cover for Canadian Military History Since the 17th Century: Proceedings of the Canadian Military History Conference, Ottawa, May 5–9, 2000. Working under a tight production deadline, I collaborated directly with the Directorate’s historical team to deliver a visually compelling layout that honoured Canada’s military legacy.
Drawing inspiration from promotional materials I created for the conference at the University of Ottawa, the cover built upon a rare military painting and the iconic maple leaf provided by the Directorate.
This case study highlights the meticulous design process behind this national publication and demonstrates the level of precision, security, and stewardship I bring to high-stakes institutional projects.
