Evolving Media Chronicles
Part 2: Preparing for Growth – Three Key Questions Before Launching Something New in 2026
Now that we've faced the tough reality of why sales might be stalling, let's shift to opportunity. 2026 is a fresh start—many of you are planning a new product, service, rebrand, or expansion. But in a market where everyone claims to be "professional," a rushed or amateur launch can bury even the best ideas before they gain traction.
|
At Evolving Media, we help turn launches into standout moments using the same resourceful approach: smart tools, minimal waste, maximum impact. Whether it's captivating visuals or a seamless online update, small targeted investments make big differences.
|
Here are three key questions to ask yourself before you launch. Answer them honestly—they'll reveal if your online presence is ready to excite customers and drive results.
|
-
Does your current website have the professional visuals needed to excitingly showcase your new offering—or will it rely on basic phone snaps that get lost in the noise?
|
|
Launches live or die on first impressions. Poor-quality images or videos fail to convey excitement, leaving potential customers underwhelmed and scrolling past.
|
|
Custom photography, video, and layouts create memorable, shareable content that highlights what makes your offering special—delivered efficiently and on budget.
|
For realtor and hotel clients, our media packages replace smartphone shots with professional photography, 360° tours, and drone footage. Properties stand out dramatically, helping them sell faster in competitive markets. One recent project, where we revamped their website took advantage of 360° tours where we photographed hotel rooms, the main lobby, the dining area and more creating "must-see, I've been here" experiences that generated immediate inquiries.

|
-
How will you make your launch stand out online—will it feel professional and cohesive, or hastily patched together?
|
Inconsistent or generic content confuses visitors and dilutes your message. A scattered launch feels amateur, eroding trust right when you need it most.
|
|
A strategic, polished update ensures everything aligns—site, imagery, messaging—creating excitement and credibility from day one.
|
When Hubert Sabourin wanted to invest in a new website to showcase their niche products and services, selling metal. We delivered a modern, visually stunning site which took advantage of creatively crafted text, rich photography and product highlights; think bucket teeth. The cohesive, high-impact result brought the business into the 21 century.

With limited resources, how can smart design and media maximize your launch impact without big spending?
|
Many businesses either overspend on flashy extras or underspend and blend into the background. The middle path—resourceful, targeted creativity—delivers the biggest return.
With proven tools applied cleverly, you can turn constraints into advantages, achieving professional results that punch above your weight.

SECURITY ALERT | CRA Scams Pulse
|
|

As tax season approaches, with online filing beginning in late February 2026, there has been a significant increase in spam and phishing attempts targeting Canadians.
Scammers are impersonating the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA), banks, tax collectors, and other organizations to steal personal information such as Social Insurance Numbers (SIN), banking details, or login credentials, or to deceive individuals into making fraudulent payments. The CRA and Canadian Anti-Fraud Centre (CAFC) report a surge in scams. Many are more sophisticated, using generative AI (GenAI) tools to create convincing fraudulent emails, texts, voices, and documents with improved grammar, realistic logos, and fewer errors.
|
Current Examples of Fraudulent Emails and Text Messages
Here are some highlighted patterns and examples based on recent alerts (as of February 2026):
|
- Fake CRA "Important Message" or "New Mail" Texts/Emails: These claim you have an urgent message in your CRA account, like "Important Message from CRA" or "new mail online." They prompt you to click a link to log in or view the message, often leading to a fraudulent site mimicking the CRA portal. Do not click these links. Legitimate CRA notifications instruct you to sign in directly at canada.ca or cra-arc.gc.ca and do not include unsolicited links.
- Benefit Confirmation or Refund Phishing: Fraudulent emails or texts may appear to be from the CRA aboutbenefits, tax credits (Home Accessibility Tax Credit, Disability Tax Credit, Old Age Security, Canada Carbon Rebate), or "unclaimed" refunds. These messages may state you are eligible for payment and include links to "verify" your details or claim benefits. These links typically lead to fake sites that collect SIN, banking, or other personal data. Some promise fake Interac e-Transfers or false one-time payments, such as $2,000 relief or $680 claims.
- Threatening or Urgent Payment Demands: Scammers may pose as CRA agents and demand immediate payment for alleged tax debts. They may request Interac e-transfer, cryptocurrency, gift cards, or prepaid cards. Threats often include arrest, police action, or penalties if payment is not made. The CRA never requests payment through these methods or uses aggressive threats.
- Fake Interac e-Transfer Notifications: Some texts or emails display Government of Canada logos and claim you received a CRA deposit or refund via Interac. They prompt you to click for details and often lead to phishing sites.
- Bank or Tax Collector Impersonations: Scammers impersonate banks or tax collectors and send fake refund messages or aggressively demand information or payment.
Red flags include:
- Suspicious sender emails (not from
- @canada
- .ca or
- @cra
- -arc.gc.ca)
- Unsolicited links or requests for personal/financial info
- Odd URLs (e.g., cra-login-canada.com instead of official domains)
- Pressure to act immediately
- Requests for payment via unusual methods
Key Advice to Stay Safe
- The CRA never contacts you via unsolicited email or text asking for personal info, requesting payment by gift card or e-transfer, or asking you to click links to "secure" accounts or for refunds.
- Always access your CRA account by typing canada.ca/my-cra-account in your browser. Never use links in messages.
- Enable multi-factor authentication (MFA) in your CRA account. A backup MFA became required in February 2026.
- Report suspicious messages. Forward scam emails to phishing@antifraudcentre.ca or text scams to 7726 (SPAM). Report to the Canadian Anti-Fraud Centre at antifraudcentre-centreantifraude.ca or 1-888-495-8501.
- Stay informed: Check the CRA's scams page at canada.ca/en/revenue-agency/corporate/scams-fraud.html for the latest alerts.
|
With tax filing underway, vigilance is critical. Scammers exploit the season's urgency. If you get a suspicious message, delete it without responding. Confirm legitimacy through official channels. Stay safe. If you have an example to showcase, take a screenshot that omits personal details.
