I developed the website for Julie Kaswurm's campaign for Deputy Mayor of North Glengarry, Ontario. Registered the domain juliekaswurmfornorthglengarry.ca as a memorable slogan and set up the campaign email whois@juliekaswurmfornorthglengarry.ca so voters could reach the team quickly.

Hosting Update:
Modern Canadian Managed VPS Servers
As part of our commitment to client security, in July, I made the bold decision to migrate all clients’ web hosting accounts to new, high-performance managed virtual private servers located in 100% Canadian data centres.
|
These modern servers deliver improved speed, reliability, and scalability — resulting in faster load times, a smoother visitor experience, and better search rankings for our clients. They fully support PIPEDA compliance, ensuring client data is protected under Canadian privacy laws while benefiting from Canadian data sovereignty standards.

This infrastructure upgrade resulted in price increases as web hosting packages were adjusted accordingly. As an existing client, if your web hosting service is up for renewal I'll apply a 20% discount to offset the price this year. If you've renewed your hosting service prior to July 2026, you were invoiced the old lower price. This gesture reflects my dedication to providing secure, dependable digital solutions that align with Canadian regulations and values.

Recent Technical Challenges & Improvements
I’ve been hosting websites since 1998 and still believe clients deserve clear transparent updates about the service.
|
Like many hosting providers, we’ve seen a higher volume of security-related updates this year as cyber threats continue to evolve. This year also involved more technical work than usual. Earlier in the year, I migrated all accounts to new servers after we outgrew the previous hardware. That move uncovered some issues (including faulty hardware), which took time to fully resolve. I then moved everything again to a Canadian Managed VPS environment. Overall performance has been significantly better.

On Sunday, September 20, an automatic security update to the server’s core operating system (called a kernel patch) caused a temporary boot issue that required manual repair and a reboot. These security patches are important—they close vulnerabilities that attackers try to exploit—but they can occasionally cause brief disruptions while the system restarts and stabilizes.
|
I continue to keep backups current and make every effort to keep websites and email running smoothly. If you notice anything unusual, please let me know right away so I can check it.
