Facebook does not have a phone number
Published by Jeff Poissant, RGD

One would think that a company or organization as large as Facebook would have a technical support line, or a customer service desk. The reality is, they don't. There is no direct phone line to reach or speak to a real human being. Yes, you can send an email, but whomever you happen to reach, that person really cannot help you unless you are actually logged into your Facebook Account.

Let me repeat that again. Facebook, cannot help you, unless you are logged into your Facebook Account.

What happens if your Facebook account is hacked?
The simple answer is, if you are not able to regain access to your Facebook Profile... nothing. There is no one you can call. Your friend or family cannot help you unless you made someone you trust an Administrator to your account.

If you do a search on Google, Bing, or any other search engine, the phone numbers you will find are fake. You will be walking into the Roman Colosseum, the lions, waiting to pounce. These phone numbers will connect you to inscruplious people who are intent to gain access to your computer. They want your Administrator password, they want your money, often you have to pay them in advance before any work is conducted. They will have you download and install a piece of software onto your computer so they can "repair" your Facebook page.

Facebook is not installed on your computer. Unlike a smart phone, which has an App by Facebook installed. Facebook does not have an application that is installed on your computer. I repeat, Facebook does not have an application that is installed on your computer. So there is no reason to install a piece of software onto your computer that remotely gives access to a third party.

This will never happen to me?
This will never happen to me is a bad excuse, because it can happen. It has happened to people that I know, who told me about it after the fact, the damage was already done. They lost $350, their Facebook account and Profile, all the information on their computers (Desktop, laptops), A days wage, because they had to take the day off.

What else can happen?
You gave someone you do not know direct access to your computer, that inscruplious person, can now install a keylogger application on your computer without your knowledge. They can again access to your bank accounts, your credit cards, your contact list or address book. They can infect other computers on your network, or friends computers who may visit. Do you see where I am going with this. If you are using an Android phone, you can also have malcious software installed when you access the infected network.

Digest this for a bit, I will continue with Part two of this article later.
