Facebook does not have a phone number

As of my last update in January 2022, Facebook, a multi-billion dollar company now known as META Inc., still doesn’t offer a direct technical support phone number or a customer service desk for general users. Instead, they provide support through their Help Center, which includes FAQs, troubleshooting guides, and community forums to address common issues. However, Facebook does offer advertisers support through their Advertiser Support.

The reality is, as a general user of the platform, they don’t offer necessary support. There is no direct phone line to reach or speak to a real human being. Yes, you can send an email, but whoever you get can only help if you log into your Facebook Account.

Let me repeat that. Facebook can only help you if you log into your Facebook account.

What happens if someone hacks your Facebook account?

The simple answer is only possible if you can regain access to your Facebook Profile. You cannot call anyone. Your friend or family member can only help you if you trust someone to administer your account.

If you search on Google, Bing, or any other search engine, the phone numbers you find are all fake. You will walk into the Roman Colosseum, the lions waiting to pounce. These phone numbers will connect you to unscrupulous people intent on gaining access to your computer. They want your Administrator password; they want your money, and often, you have to pay them in advance before any work starts. They will have you download and install a piece of software onto your computer so they can “repair” your Facebook page.

Facebook is not an application installed on your computer. Unlike a smartphone with a Facebook app you install, Facebook does not have an application installed on your computer.

“I repeat, Facebook does not have an application installed on your computer.”

There is no reason to install software onto your computer that remotely gives access to a third party.

Ok, but this will never happen to me?

The worst excuse in online safety is that this will never happen to me! It can happen. I know people whose Facebook accounts were hacked. The damage was already done, as they never told me about it. I only found out after the fact, and they lost money, some as low as $350, their Facebook account and Profile, all the information on their computers (Desktops and laptops), and a day’s wage because they had to take the day off.

What else can happen?

If you give someone you do not know direct access to your computer, that unscrupulous person can install a keylogger application without your knowledge. They can access your bank accounts, credit cards, contact list, or address book again. They can infect other computers on your network or friends who may visit. Do you see where I am going with this? If you are using an Android phone, you can also have malicious software installed when you access the infected network.

Therefore, it is essential to be careful when seeking help for your Facebook account and trust only reliable sources.

So what can I do then?
If you’re experiencing a specific issue with your Facebook account or service, you can try the following:

  1. Visit the Facebook Help Center. Here, you can find answers to commonly asked questions and troubleshoot issues related to your account, privacy settings, and more.
  2. Community Forums: Facebook has community forums where users can ask questions and seek help from other users who may have encountered similar problems. Please note that Facebook does not have a public phone number. Be wary of people who offer a tech support number.
  3. Advertiser Support: If you’re an advertiser, you can access support through Facebook’s Ads Help Center or contact Facebook Business Support for advertising-related issues.

Remember to be cautious of third-party services claiming to provide Facebook support via phone numbers, as they can be scams.
