CONTENT
Our challenge, to create a reason for someone to join the Cameron Highlanders of Ottawa.

  • Skillfully written text,
  • Professional photos highlighting the best assets,
  • Focusing on key elements of the organization and it’s proud history,
  • Content is king

At an exciting time in our history, the millennium, the turn of the century. In the year 2000, Evolving Media & Design Inc. was commissioned to design a few bilingual recruitment posters and a brochure to promote an on-site museum within the Cameron Highlanders headquarters in Ottawa, Ontario.

Due to time constraints, Evolving Media commissioned Fred Cattrol Photo Associates in Ottawa to take the original photos. The digital negatives were then given to Jeff Poissant after the photo shoot. We worked closely with Dr. Kenneth Reynolds and the senior staff, who provided historical images from the museums’ archives. We then selected the images, and Jeff Poissant removed the backgrounds and edited and repaired other photos during the design process.

Seeing that Google didn’t exist yet, a map was created to provide directions on how to walk or drive to the Cameron Highlanders headquarters. Bilingual text for the brochure was given and added to the design.

These were the results. What do you think?

About the Cameron Highlanders of Ottawa

The Cameron Highlanders of Ottawa traces their roots back to 1856. Members of the Regiment or the antecedent regiments have served their country in all armed conflicts from the Northwest Rebellion to war in Afghanistan.

Embracing the same motto as the city of Ottawa, “ADVANCE” the Camerons were the only Ottawa regiment to participate in the D-Day landings. Of note is the secondary title “Duke of Edinburgh’s Own.”

Their Regimental Family consists of the Regiment, the Association, and the Foundation.
