In the early days of Evolving Media, we worked with other design companies in the industry. One such design company subcontracted us to design and layout a series of books on Canadian Canola; One in English, one in French, and one version in Farci. Agriculture Canada published the book Internationally.

Of particular note,  the client didn’t want to spend money on buying the Arabic typeface; $1200 at the time, for the version in Farci. We met with the project manager at Agriculture Canada and found a solution. An electronic text document sent to the Arabic Embassy in Ottawa to print the file from their computer, using their fonts, on a Black and White laser printer. The resulting pages were then scanned, compared and formatted twice for review before the book could be sent to press.
